Our culinary highlights should be a reason to take out your darling. We yearly offer the speciality-weeks that are meanwhile very popular. To the culinary highlights belong as well our yearly events like the carnival for kids or the "Hausball" (the carnival for the older generation) - both in cooperation with the carnival club of Bad Ischl. The menu and our speciality-weeks are made public one month before on our homepage and in our restaurant Gasthof zum Pfandl.

The fish-weeks start with our incomparable "Herringschmaus" (this is a speciality served on Ash Wednesday and consists mainly of herring and other delicacies). Then the fish-weeks go on with delicious specialities from the home waters as well as specialities from the sea which please both eyes and palate.

Omelettes in different variations even spoil the demanding guests. Every year the menu is created with loving care by pupils from the elementary school in Pfandl. With the profits from the omelette-weeks we would like to contribute to charity. For every sold omelette-meal and menu, the club "I BIN I" (I am what I am) obtains a supporting amount sum. The club "I BIN I" supports the integration of people with special needs.

Our venison-weeks inspire not only huntsmen and admirer of venison, but also the whole visiting team. The venison-weeks end every year with the Martini-Gansl Essen (traditionally prepared duck and goose on the occasion of St. Martin`s Day) around the 11th of November.

This tradition has several explanations. One probable interpretation is the following: On St. Martin`s Day used to start the new financial year of farmers, in which wages were paid, leases were maid, taxes were paid and farmhands and farmgirls were allowed to change their working place. On this St. Martin`s Day the livestock, which couldn`t be fed the whole winter for the reason of costs, were slaughtered - the geese as well.

What can be more charming than celebrating the last day of the year with family and friends, sitting at a splendidly and lovingly decorated table and being spoilt with a more-course meal from our kitchen? We can guarantee an unforgettable culinary highlight.

With support of the carnival club of Bad Ischl, about 100 children enjoy a unique afternoon with playing, dancing and singing…… by the way: every child wins at our raffle.

Our carnival ball, which is called "Hausball", is a popular event for friends of our house and admirer of the carnival. With artistic entertainment of "Die Verlorenen Söhne" (the lost sons) and "Die Ischler Tanzhexen" (dancing witches), this ball is always a highlight in the carnival metropolis - the Salzkammergut.
